What is a Training School?

As a Training School we support and provide training for Trainee and Early Career Teachers in the region. To enable us to do this successfully we have developed an alliance with other schools and Higher Educational Institutions to provide high quality training, development and support to new and early career teachers. We work with the following universities and education experts to ensure that we provide the best possible start to a teacher's career, either through Initial Teacher Education, PGCE courses, The Early Career Framework and NPQs:

Our Training School alliance

Macmillan Academy has a longstanding commitment to teacher training and development. We see our Training School as having three main priorities: to improve entry to the teaching profession, to support Early Career Teachers and to improve the current workforce of teachers. Fundamentally, children should benefit from the work of the Training School with the ultimate objective being to raise educational outcomes.
